I managed to get to page 29, before giving up on this book.
Just didn't have the right feeling for the way it was written and got quite put off by the attitude of the club members who didn't want any natives to join their ranks.
Really showed up the British for what they were in that era of Colonial Rule.

I've never found it easy to read Orwell. His books' themes, characters and plots were fascinating, but he was a crummy writer, in my opinion...boring.
