I have read other books by this author and enjoyed the characters - Cliff Janeway is an ex-cop and a rare book dealer who just cant seem to let go of his police skills.
This time, Cliff is called in to find some missing books, which have been replaced by cheap reprints.
The collection belonged to Candice Geiger who has been dead for a few years - some believe she was murdered.
Candice's husband ws a wealthy horse trainer, so Cliff gets into the racing scene, in an attempt to discover the truth.
